Thanks for the perfect trip to NW Ontario this past September. The weather, Northern Lights, Fall tree color, and the great fishing added up to one fabulous trip. The cabin, equipment and plane flights all went or worked smoothly. Cheri caught the largest pike at 20 1/2 pounds and I lucked out at 8 1/2 pounds with the largest Walleye. We're looking forward to next September and being back up North. Thanks again for running one of the finest outpost camp operations in Canada. Wilderness Air is one of the best!.

MacDowell Lake Outpost Cabin

A truly northern experience. Once you've been here, you won't want to go anywhere else - that's what our guests say. The ones that have been here, keep coming back to this one.

Our biggest lake - 20 miles in size; you'll never get bored. A number of weedy bays, combined with varying shorelines - both rocky and sandy - a perfect location for huge walleye and trophy northern pike. Some of the other characteristics of this fly-in fishing lake include several small islands, lots of rock structure and a maximum depth of 30 feet.

As MacDowell Lake is a catch and release lake, you can fish for fun and have shoreline lunches.

Ideal for Large Groups

Have a big group? This is the lake for you. Four fully furnished cabins; 2 different locations on the lake. The South camp has 2 log cabins (accommodating up to 12 people). The West camp has 2 frame cabins (accommodating up to 10 people). Both are equipped with hot and cold running water with showers, solar lights, BBQ, fish cooker, boat seats, and 9.9 hp Yamaha motors on large 14' boats (all new equipment).

This lake is our furthest location - 1 1/2 hour flight but well worth it. We only started fishing this lake a few years ago and it shows.
